The Planning & Production Collaboration: The Greater University Chamber of Commerce, UW First Year Programs/Dawg Daze and local businesses are planning this event collaboratively with production staffing provided by the Chamber and UW Dawg Daze volunteers. The event will feature live music venues, sponsor booths with give-aways, and community information tables along the sidewalks as well as special promotions and and activities inside local busiensses
The "Passport Raffle" is back: Along the AVE between NE 41st Street and NE 52nd Street merchant participants will hold sidewalk sales, provide specials and give aways/tastings and host additional entertainment venues. "Passports" will be distributed and may merchants and sponsors will stamp passports. Passport holders will acquire stamps in their passports from specific local merchants and enter their completed passports in any of three collection areas to win prizes donated by many local businesses. A list of raffle items will be available soon.
Attendance at this event is free.
The Marketing Plan: “Passports” will be printed and distributed to 5,000 first year students and another 2,000 to Dawg Daze participants. Additionally, 3,000 passports will be provided to sponsors and local businesses to distribute during the event. The event will be listed along with the other “Dawg Daze” events, posters for the event will be distributed in the windows of merchants along the Ave, in dorms, and at central locations on campus.
Additionally, we will produce a full color map insert in the UW Daily Edition on the day of the event. We will support additional advertising for this event as our budget permits.
Attendee Demographics: Our primary marketing thrust will be to first-year students ranging in age from 18-25, but everyone is welcome. We anticipate about 7,500 attendees this year.
